Join our Data Desk at Connected Development Camp – Friday, November 13

Last week we sent all DataMissionaries an email about our upcoming activity:

On Friday November 13, the Connected Development Camp takes place. A yearly event focused on the future of international development cooperation and humanitarian aid. DataMission will host a Data Desk. Here we will provide NGO’s, activists, researchers, journalists and policy makers with hands-on advise on their data-related question. We are looking for three DataMissionairies to be part of our Data Desk!

Want to join this mission?

Do you want to put data for good and humanity in practice? And explore how data can provide insights in the challenges humanity faces? Then come help us out and be part of the data desk crew! Together we will answer their questions on data in relation to international development cooperation and humanitarian aid. We will work according to the speeddating principle. Participants subscribe to a time slot of 15 minutes and our DataMission team will provide them with advises and answers.

What are we looking for and how do you apply?

To be able to advise on a broad range of questions, we would like to have a variety of disciplines behind our desk. We are looking specifically for a general data analyst/scientist, someone who works with text, content or social networks and someone who is familiar with databases and data analysis infrastructure. It would be even better if you know how to translate the organisational or social context to a data related question. Do you think you have what it takes? Then send an email to contact@datamission.nl with your skills and a short motivation. We are looking forward to hear from you! Of course you can email us if you want more info as well.

Connected Development Festival

Partos Innovationfestival and the Open Development Camp join forces on Friday November 13th in Theater aan het Spui in The Hague. Under the ‘social meets tech’ theme we promise you an inspiring program about innovation in areas such as inclusion, civil society, data activism, and the current refugee crisis. Connected Development Festival brings together an international audience of professionals from different backgrounds from NGO’s and activists, to developers, information managers and researchers and policy makers.
